wed Popcorn Drawing

Image result for drawing popcorn kernelsImage result for drawing popcorn kernelsImage result for drawing popcorn kernelstodays drawing assignment for wednesday is to pop some popcorn( if you don't have popcorn potato chips or taco chips will do)
do a tonal drawing in charcoal ot pencil
you may use larger paper than sketchbook if you have it.
method:
  1.  arrange popcorn on background- have a good light source
  2. compose the drawing by enlarging the subject matter to such proportions that it makes a sound composition on your page
  3. you can take closeups with your phone

  4. develop entire drawing from the start . PLACE SHADOWS AND OTHER DARK VALUES FIRST
  5. develop relative tonal values in proportion to your darks
  6. work towards exact placement of hard edges.
  7. don't rush for detail. work from general to specific.
  8. DON'T ARRANGE POPCORN ON A SMOOTH SURFACE. -A MORE INTERESTING GROUND WILL MAKE AN EASIER DRAWING
  9. HAVE FUN

class A LETTER FROM MR. GAUDREAU

READ CAREFULLY ,OK? AND EMAIL ME ANY QUESTIONS. I AM IN MY STUDIO DURING CLASS TIME AS WELL

Dear Studio Class,
We are all in this together during this difficult time. Let's think positive and make the most of it .
This is a new adventure for both of us. I hope you take the opportunity to pursue your art as you would pursue any of your academic subjects for these next 2 weeks. Wait! You might want to re think that and treat these art assignments as more important than some of your other subjects.  Your art may take your mind off the routine of academics and help you forget the craziness of our daily real- world situation. Making art relieves stress. Is good practice in mindfulness and fun. At the least it makes it legal for you NOT to study the books for awhile. This is what real artists do,
